Water Polo Victoria

MUPolo plan on entering a total of six teams in the 2014 Water Polo Victoria Winter Competition (depending on player numbers). These include teams in the Women’s State League 2 Competition, Women’s State League 3 Competition, Men’s State League 2 Competition, Men’s State League 3 Competition, Men’s State League 4 Competition and Men’s State League 5 Competition.

All matches take place at either the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (Albert Park) or at South Yarra Sport Centre (South Yarra). The Women’s teams play on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings between 6:00pm and 9:30pm, while the Men’s State League 2 team play on Wednesday evenings between 6:00pm and 9:30pm, whilst the Men’s State League 3, Men’s State League 4 and Men’s State League 5 teams play on Thursday evenings between 6:30pm and 9:30pm. The costs involved in playing in the Water Polo Victoria Competitions vary each season however below an approximated list of the costs involved in playing for MUPolo:

  • A Water Polo Victoria registration fee of approximately $180 is payable to Water Polo Victoria by all players. This covers your player registration for three seasons (WPV Summer Competition, WPV Winter Competition and WPV State Championships) as well as player insurance for one year.
  • Match fees of approximately $80 – $240 per season are also payable to Water Polo Victoria.

In summary, it is approximately $260 – $340 for your first competition (WPV Player Registration plus Game Fees), then $120 – $240 for every other competition you play in, making the total cost for the year approximately $400 – $500 (not including MUPolo registration and training fee). For more accurate details on the costs involved please ask a committee member at training. Entry to MSAC is free each night of competition for competitors and spectators (finals may charge a small fee for spectators).
